Volunteer: The Big Spring Clean: Briar Creek @ Masonic Dr.

The Big Spring Clean takes place on the final day of Creek Week, where hundreds of volunteers gather at sites around Mecklenburg County to remove as much litter from our creeks as we can! The Big Spring Clean 2026 will take place on March 28th, 9 AM- 12 PM.

Parking: Street parking is available along Masonic Drive.  We recommend carpooling if possible.  This site is hosted by the Merry Oaks Neighborhood Association. You can meet them near the Briar Creek Greenway entrance on Masonic to check in and to receive supplies and instructions. 

What to Bring: To limit single-use plastic, please bring a filled reusable water bottle. 

What to Wear: This site will be cleaning the stream banks and flood plain around Briar Creek. No hip waders will be supplied. Grabbers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, but we will bring as many as we can. All volunteers will be provided with gloves and trash bags. Volunteer: Park, Street, and Stream Cleanup @ Campbell Creek Greenway

Come out and celebrate Creek Week!

This event is a TRIFECTA Cleanup in partnership with Keep Charlotte Beautiful and Park & Recreation! Volunteers will be tackling Campbell Creek Greenway, surrounding streets, and Campbell Creek by removing litter. At the start of this event, you can choose to clean up the park grounds, walk the surrounding streets, or hop in the stream with our gear!

Parking: Parking at the Greenway trailhead is very limited. Additional parking is available at the Independence Square Shopping Mall, where you can easily park and take a short walk along the sidewalk of Margaret Wallace Rd to the greenway trailhead. Staff will be stationed at the greenway trailhead, with supplies and instructions for each cleanup type.

Come out and celebrate Creek Week!

Bait and tackle are provided for all attendees. However, attendees 16 and older will need an NC Fishing License. 

This session will take place at Kid Pond in Ballentyne.


IMPORTANT: Each registration slot will reserve 1 fishing rod. If you are bringing a child who will need a fish rod but you will not, please only register for the child.

What to Bring: To limit single-use plastic, please bring a filled reusable water bottle. 

What to Wear: Supplies such as hip waders and grabbers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, but we will bring as many as we can. All volunteers will be provided with gloves and trash bags. Feel free to bring your own gloves and boots if you’d like! We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes and long pants to this event.
