Opportunities From: Mecklenburg County Volunteer Program

Join Mecklenburg County's Services for Adults Division to support homebound seniors this holiday season. Volunteers will do light lifting to bag fresh produce and festive items for over 1,200 individuals. We will package items on Friday, December 5th, beginning at 9:30am. The Senior Citizens Nutrition Program (SCNP) provides nutrition support and socialization opportunities for individuals 60+ residing in Mecklenburg County. Volunteers may assist with activities such as exercise, arts, health education, and educational programs, as well as lunch service! If you are looking for an opportunity to engage with older adults in a meaningful way, SCNP has more than 12 locations throughout the County!

The Senior Citizens Nutrition Program (SCNP) facilitates the Mobile Market to provide fresh produce and grocery items directly to aging communities. Our operating hours are 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at various locations throughout Mecklenburg County.

Volunteers are needed to refill produce bins, distribute pantry supplies, and assist individuals as they shop.
