Who We Are
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services is a joint municipal and county stormwater utility that serves the City of Charlotte, the surrounding towns of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Matthews, Mint Hill, and Pineville, as well as Mecklenburg County.
What We Do
Come help us keep our surface waters pollution-free! CMSWS hosts a volunteer event on the Second Saturday and Last Thursday of every month, as well as some additional events throughout the year. An email will be sent to those signed up before each event with details, i.e., parking, where to meet, what to wear, and what to bring. If you have questions in the meantime, don't hesitate to reach out to Taylor.Mebane@MeckNC.gov.
Find an activity or date below that works best for you!

Important Details:
All minors must be accompanied at events. While we don't have an age minimum for events, stream clean-up involves navigating uneven, sometimes steep, terrain. Wading in streams may be unpredictable. We recommended that children under 10 be kept out of streams during these events and monitored closely.
This page contains volunteer AND educational events; not all events can be verified for volunteer hours for your organization. If you have any questions about whether an event qualifies as volunteer hours, feel free to reach out to us.
