Mecklenburg County volunteers are invited to join their neighbors from across the community to support our elders and those who care for them on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD).
Age-Friendly Mecklenburg, AARP Charlotte, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of N.C., and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation are co-hosting this fourth annual walk, and wearing purple to raise awareness of abuse, neglect and exploitation of older persons.
Volunteer Opportunities included but not limited to:
* Guiding Community Partners to their designated spot
*Assist Community Partners to their spot on the greenway with their items
*Help with Guiding participants on their walk (Walk will be 1 mile long)
*Help with set up and tear down
