The Big Spring Clean takes place on the final day of Creek Week, where hundreds of volunteers gather at sites around Mecklenburg County to remove as much litter from our creeks as we can! The Big Spring Clean 2026 will take place on March 28th, 9 AM- 12 PM.
Parking: Parking is available in the parking lot closest to Floor and Décor. You can meet staff at the Little Sugar Creek Greenway near the back of this parking lot for registration and to receive supplies and instructions.
What to Bring: To limit single-use plastic, please bring a filled reusable water bottle.
What to Wear: Supplies such as hip waders and grabbers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, but we will bring as many as we can. All volunteers will be provided with gloves and trash bags. Feel free to bring your own gloves and boots if you’d like! We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes and long pants to this event.
