Pollution is Scary! Kick off your Halloween festivities by volunteering with us to keep our streets and streams clean! This is TRIFECTA CLEANUP, where volunteers will tackle litter pickup on the surrounding greenways, streets, and in Little Sugar Creek. Anyone who comes in costume will win a small gift!
Parking: Parking is available in the Metropolitan Target parking lot at 900 Metropolitan Ave. Please park on the 4th floor of the deck where there is ample parking. There is also limited parking available near the greenway entrance. Staff well be set up at the greenway trailhead next to the Cookout at the listed address.
What to Bring: To limit single-use plastic, please bring a filled reusable water bottle.
What to Wear: Costumes are encouraged! But remember to wear something you don't mind getting too dirty and won't make you overheat during the event. Supplies such as hip waders and grabbers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, but we will bring as many as we can. All volunteers will be provided with gloves and trash bags. Feel free to bring your own gloves and boots if you’d like! We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes and long pants to this event.
If you do plan to come in costume, please follow these guidelines for this family-friendly event:
All costumes must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages. Swearing, nudity or the allusion to it, flashing, culturally insensitive costumes, or other inappropriate behavior is prohibited. For safety reasons, the following props are not allowed:
- Substances that might damage or stain facilities or other costumes and participants (i.e. fake blood, confetti, silly string.)
- Aerosol Sprays (Please apply hairspray or hair color before you leave home)
- Projectiles of any kind. Don't throw anything.
- Flames, pyrotechnics or explosives of any kind.
- Metal bats, large wrenches or shovels
